400 SHADES OF YOU
you're up, you're down, bustin out all over town
you're red or you're blue, what's the matter with you?
lovin or fightin sunny day white lightning
400 shades if you
when you're bright & you go dark justy like a woman, making your mark
maybe black & then white, the way your acting, not right
lonin or fighting sunny day white lightning
400 shades of you
yes i love you baby, yes it's true, there's only so much i can do
show me a really good time, but pushing me over the line
gotta slow down, let me catch my breath,
don't run me down, cause my death
before we walk down that wedding aisle,
show me a little more than that pretty smile
your wayer & your wine, your take out or fine dine
might be happy or sad, sometimes good or bad
lovin or fighting sunny day white lightning
WHEN THE SUN GOES DOWN
You know its just a state of mind, and a feeling that is mine
feeling blue don't get you nowhere, So I guess I'll grab my coat & go
I'll be heading into town
When the sun goes down
& when those bright lights hit my eyes, with that traffic streaming by
I hope to see you once again, and give love another try
So I'll be heading into town
You know your laughter fills my heart, & when you hold me in your arm
I will take it if you'll give it, cause you're just a winning ticket
I'll be there when you come around
ALL ABOARD
I'm just your innocence, I'm what you were
I'm not that other one, please don't disturb
I'm what you want to be, this you can see
I'll spare a moment here for you to be
down that road i've walked until I found the other side
take back my memories they're fortunes far & wide
Too long I've known this way, bring back my friend
its better now to save it, justify this end
Thise remains from yesterday leave one more trace
This world I know has a ghost I can embrace
so tired weights assail me, turn my head around
I lay them down, they've taught me words that I can mouth
Silencing that virtue lost you can't afford...all aboard
Still pleasure to have know you under my command
only just no sad sad sorrow that's all I demand
Just to be what is needed all it does is good
That thing that keeps you going is your childhood
TALES FROM THE TWILIGHT ZONE
Nickel for the fortune teller
I get some words I don't want to hear
Bad news and trouble, Politics of fear
for some words that won't go away
better run for cover
To a place where I want to stay by go to
Will it be? Willobee
Willobee Oh Willobee
Next stopis Willobee
To find some friends that I want to bring
Take the captain, he'll be a winner
and his little man on the wing
For some world that I can face
home is where we make it
disappear without a trace, I'll go to Willobee
FOR JOHN C.
Lay your hand upon my shoulder, then you will plainly see
a world of love & understanding
touch my heart & hold my hand
Get together across this land with me
Rest your weary head beeside me , then you will planly see
a time with hearts & minds together
Will you come & understand
Bring your ship to port beside me, then you will plainly see
Dark clouds & the stormy weather
get together across this land with me
Now take a step or two beside me, then you will plainly see
prepare for a timeless journey
will you come & take my hand
PORT OF CRISFIELD
Word has been passing, a few years or more
we bring fewer bushels on back for the store
scratchin for money but the fishins been poor
& so we go livin on the eastern shore
I'll see you come later when my boat gets back
& go do some drinkin past the fisherman's shack
I'll hold your hand past the landing we'll go
Where the grasses grow higher down cannery row
The days slowly pass & the tidewaters near,
Night falls so softly & bring in good cheer
Port of Crisfield
Now I might be heading to towns further north
Where the rivers & railroads might just lend support
where the wealth is for taking I'll search for that place
in Annapolis or Fells Point maybe Havre D Grace
All hustlin & musclin to work such a pace, not a person I know or a friend just incase
Saving no money & worked to the bone, I'm dreamin of leavin & heading back home
Now the city's no place for a poor boy like me
There's too many strangers for these eyes to see
Back to the families and homes here's the deal
I'll play out my hand in the Port of Crisfield
